DAY 12 of 30 (PHASE 1) — What Do You Wish Your Students Understood?

This one is for the driving instructors out there.

You’re on a unique vantage point. You see things from the front row.

You see the anxiety up close, every lesson. You see a student paralysed by fear in the car park, then capable on a quiet road. You see the pattern of what works and what doesn’t. You see students who are technically ready but psychologically blocked.

You see the potential your students don’t see in themselves.

What do you wish your students understood about themselves? About the learning process? About what it actually takes to become a driver?

This is your space. Not a lesson. Not technique feedback. Just the wisdom that doesn’t fit into a 60-minute lesson.

Maybe it’s:

  • “You’re more capable than you believe”
  • “Anxiety doesn’t mean you’re not ready”
  • “Progress isn’t linear”
  • “Your mistakes are how you learn”
  • “I believe in you even when you don’t believe in yourself”
  • “The test is just a conversation about your driving”
  • “You’re not failing, you’re learning”

Tell us:

  • What’s the biggest misunderstanding you hear from students?
  • What do you see in your students that they don’t see in themselves?
  • What’s the pattern you notice about who passes and who struggles?
  • What would change if your students understood [your insight]?

This is your voice. Your perspective matters. Your students need to hear what you’re actually thinking about them.

Reflection Question: “What’s the biggest gap between what I can teach and what my students believe about themselves?”

Community Engagement: For learners: If you’re reading this, reply and tell your instructor: “What’s something they’ve said or done that stuck with you? What did they see in you?”
