Welcome. If you’re here, you’ve already done something a lot of people find genuinely hard — you passed your test.
That’s real. Don’t let anyone undersell it, including yourself.
But here’s something I’ve learned in over 20 years of teaching: passing the test and feeling like a driver are two different milestones, and the gap between them can take anywhere from a few months to a few years to close. For some, it never fully closes without the right kind of support — which is exactly why this category exists.
Road Mentors is for every stage of that journey:
- If you’re newly qualified and still finding your feet, head to our Newly Qualified Drivers subcategory — that’s built specifically for where you are right now
- If you’ve been driving for years and have wisdom, stories, or hard-earned advice to share, this is your space to mentor others
- If you’re an experienced driver who still carries some anxiety from years back, you’re just as welcome here — confidence isn’t a straight line for anyone
A few ways to get started:
- Introduce yourself — how long have you been driving, and what’s one thing you wish someone had told you earlier?
- If you’re newer to driving, tell us what’s still feeling hard
- If you’re experienced, tell us about a moment when you first felt like a confident driver — what changed?
This category grows stronger every time someone further along the road reaches back to help someone just behind them. That’s the whole idea.
Glad you’re here.
